Data streaming is not yet available for the F-POD or the BatBug but both have particular advantages as the source of data on the occurrence of the mammals they track.

They store very compact highly precise data so the voume of data that needs to be transmitted per minute is much lower than when WAVE file data is the source.

Chelonia is working on streaming data – the essential interface is already present in the circuit boards.

In outline data will be packaged and transmitted over the 4G phone network to a cloud station.  From there it can be downloaded by a ground station PC.

The PC will carry out the vital post-processing on each completed minute of data, delivering results in near-real-time, and archiving a data file that is the same as those made in normal operation.

The system will be able to be powered by solar power on site.
